If you’re anything like me, you will need this prayer OFTEN! Anxiety wasn’t something I struggled with until I had Scarlett. After that it was the most real (annoying) uncontrollable feeling. I have a strong relationship with the Lord, but sometimes it seems like because of that the enemy makes it a point to attack my mind even harder. Friend, remember, if you are a follower of Christ, the same power lives in you that rose Jesus from the dead, and because of the death and resurrection the enemy has NO HOLD on you. You don’t have to be in bondage anymore. Praise God!
I wish I could tell you that the devil will never try to bring those feelings back up, but unfortunately, that isn’t how it’s works for me. I still feel anxiety and overwhelm try to creep in and control me and my time, but because I can put on the armor of God, I can rebuke it and MOVE ON. As soon as I start to feel this way (like today prior to writing this), I go to the Lord in prayer. He can provide peace like a river over me, and I know I’m not alone. I pray that as you pray this prayer, too, you feel his presence and peace. He will fight our battles if we will let him. We only need to call on his name and be still.
As you read this prayer I pray that you completely believe and feel every word you are saying to the Lord. If this is something you struggle with regularly, I encourage you to print this prayer out and stick it to your closet and say it each morning before getting ready. We HAVE to learn to lay our worries at his feet so we can move forward in our day and allow him to use us in ways we might not see otherwise. So I invite you friend to pray with me.
Heavenly Father, I come to you right now with a grateful but troubled heart. I’m so thankful that I serve a God that wants to help me in my time of need. You are a faithful and mighty God, and I know nothing can stand against you. I ask you right now, Lord to allow your peace to wash over me. The enemy knows where I am weak, but, Father God your power is made perfect in my weakness. I feel so overwhelmed and depleted. I have nothing left to give, but I have so much responsibility on my shoulders. God, I know I can’t do this alone. Please mute the enemies attack on my mind so I can think straight and be the best mom I can be for my child. Father God, I claim victory over the enemy today in Jesus’ name. I will not allow him to ruin my day. I will not allow him to cloud my mind and lead me into sin. I know there is power in the blood, and you have already won my battle. I desire to be a living sacrifice for you. Help me show my child that you are our place of refuge and strength. Help me feel refreshed and renewed today, God. Thank you for being WHO YOU ARE! You are all I need, and I thank you for relieving me of the bondage of sin through the sacrifice of Jesus. Be with me as I go throughout this day, and help me live more like Christ with each passing moment. I love you, Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
