We think we know the right time certain things should happen in our life. It’s not just me, right? 

As I was working through my Bible study, “It’s All Under Control”, something stuck out at me. We have no clue what God is doing behind closed doors. We may never see our hard work or the seeds we’ve planted come to fruition. But Moses didn’t either if we look back, but we know what he did mattered.

We are called to be obedient to where the Holy Spirit leads us. We may not understand why, but we have to TRUST God’s plan. It may be something that happens days, weeks, years down the road, but there is a purpose for everything God calls us to do.  We don’t have to have faith in ourselves, but as Christians we must have faith in God. He has ordained every step. Everything that happens has to pass through his hands as my precious friend would say.

I know that I have wondered and ask God, “Why not now?”, “Why won’t you do ____?”, “Are you sure I should ____?”. But something I have realized is His time is the BEST time. Thank goodness he didn’t give me what I ask for on so many occasions. He wants the best for us even if it doesn’t seem that way at the time.

Looking back at Mary and Martha when their brother Lazarus died is an example of this. They asked Jesus why He didn’t come sooner. They said Lazarus wouldn’t have died if Jesus would’ve been there. This is probably true, but what I learned was that God had something GREAT planned. Not only would Lazarus live, but many Jews would become Christians and believe Jesus was the Son of God because he resurrected Lazarus. Seeing him perform that miracle late to so many was actually the perfect time.

Let’s try to not stress about outcomes. Let’s try to be obedient when we are called and trust that even if we don’t get to see the fruit that comes from our obedience, there is something good God is working on. Have faith in things unseen, my friend.
